Company History

The firm was founded as L. A. Birks & Co between 1894 to 1896, by Lawrence, Arthur Birks, Charles Frederick Goodfellow, and the owner of  the Vine Pottery in Stoke-On-Trent, Staffordshire, Adolphus Joseph Rawlins. The firm then became Birks, Rawlins and Co (Ltd) in 1900 after the departure of Charles Goodfellow in 1898. In 1928 the firm was bought by Wiltshaw & Robinson, and became a decorating business only and was finally closed down in 1933.
