Company History

The Salopian Art Pottery Co operated from works in Benthall near Broseley in Shropshire making earthen ware pottery.

The firm was stated in 1882 and operated until 1912

Marks

The firm used the Salopian impressed mark shown below.

It should be noted a similar mark had earlier been used on porcelain made in the same area by Thomas Turner at the Caughley (or Salopian) works.
