Unmarked Match Strikers

A large number of match strikers you can find are unmarked, so it is impossible to say for certain who made them (although is some cases their construction can give you a "list of suspects").

These all derive from a type of match striker that has an ash tray to put spent matches or cigarette ash in so as to protect your furniture. In some, however the tray section is a stylized rather than functional feature (as in the final image).

The examples shown below are all pottery, except for the final two, one of which is polished stone and one is black glass.
